Student Resources

This page will allow students to access sites that I believe may be useful to expanding general knowledge; not necessarily based in US History.  Click on the links to access the resources.  If the links are blocked then jot down the address and try them at home (though I will try to get all these sites unblocked).

1. Diigo.com  Create your own personal  library of anything/everything you've ever searched on the web!

3. iana.org   This site is responsible for coordinating certain elements of the web.  You can learn more about it by clicking on the link.  For our purposes, it will help you to find the abbreviation code for any country in the world (root zone manager).
4. easyWhois.com. This site helps you to find out if a site is bogus or not (as far as research standards go).  Allows you to decide if the information you're reading is biased, perhaps.
5. archive.org  This site is a great research tool!  Search any historical topic in any media form and see what pops up.  FYI: the "Way Back Machine" allows you to enter a web address and see when it was created and who owns the domain.  Could be very useful when trying to decide whether or not the info you receive is biased.
6. khanacademy.org  Another great site to help you with your academic knowledge across all curriculums.
7. infotrac.galegroup.com  This site will help you with EOC and TAKS testing.  Take practice tests; learn where your weaknesses are.
