Tuesday, September 11:Intro to Westward Expansion

Student Objective: Write using newly acquired vocabulary; identify the major eras in US history and describe their defining characteristics.

1. Open this Westward Expansion Overview and Study Guide and put it into your Westward Expansion folder in Google Docs.

2. Open Time Toast and add the following date and title to your timeline:

• 1869; Transcontinental Railroad

Use the internet or your textbook to find the significance (importance) of this event and add it to the "description" box on your timeline.  Also, add an image that best reflects this date!

3. Now complete Ch 12 (Westward Expansion) Vocabulary.  Open this document to access the words; make a copy and put the document into your Westward Expansion folder (in Google Docs).  If you have NOT created a Westward Expansion folder make sure you do so now.

4. Remember: we will be testing tomorrow over Reconstruction!  You should study your Reconstruction Notes, Lincoln and The Civil War Notes and Ch. 11 (Reconstruction) Vocabulary to prepare.
