Thursday, January 10: Effects of the Spanish-American War

Student Objective: Write using newly acquired vocabulary.

1. Sorry I'm still absent, but we must push on!!!  :)  Many of you have not turned in your assignment over Yellow Journalism and The Spanish-American War . . .  Shame on you!  (It seems you  have forgotten the new late work policy.  You might want to turn around and take a look-see at the bulletin board for a reminder.)  That being said . . . turn in the assignment or it is a zero, silly ones.

2.  On a more serious note . . . I feel that most of you have not finished CH 21 Vocabulary.  Work on that during the period and turn it in here when you finish.  It is due at the end of your class period.

I will be back at school on Friday and we will move in to all of the territorial acquisitions that the US gained in its era of expansion (Imperialism).  If you'll remember, we started this unit with some of the earliest territorial expansions of the US; now we will map the Pacific acquisitions that resulted (mostly) from conflicts throughout the late 19th century.
