Friday, May 11: EYP (Cont'd)

Student Objective: Apply critical-thinking skills to organize and use information acquired from a variety of valid sources, including electronic technology: identify and support with historical evidence a point of view on a social studies issue or event.

SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!

  • The question was asked, "How long can my  video be?"  My answer: "No more than 10 minutes."  Reaction: "WHAT?!" . . .  If you are making a video it needs to be between 5-10 minutes.  If you feel like this time frame is way too short I would encourage you to script your video before you begin recording.  Also look for things you can cut out as you begin to edit.  Usually, you can find some "down time" in your video that you can do away with.
  • Make sure that you are NOT copying/pasting information in your project.  I want CREATIVITY.  I know that some information will be coming directly from sources but paraphrase it-- put it in your own words (still requires credit to the source, though).
  • Check out the glossary that Mrs. Reynolds created for the blog!  Thank you, Mrs. Reynolds!
  • Lastly,  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all of you who wrote me letters for Teacher Appreciation Week.  Those meant so much to me.  It's nice to hear you guys feel I've done an adequate job as your teacher.  I'm honored to be a stepping stone in each of my student's educational path!  You guys are great-- every single one of you!
1. I will be walking around today to check the technology progress for your project.  Remember, this is for a grade.  You need to be able to show me something by the end of your class period.
