Friday, November 2: The Progressive Era

Student Objective: Write using newly acquired vocabulary.

1. On Monday, November 5 we will be participating in a mock Presidential election. You should have a little bit of knowledge about each of the candidates before casting your vote, so I want you to check out some of the political information that Mr. Sadowl has posted on his blog.  Be open minded with both candidates' viewpoints. FIRST, read the directions below;THEN click on the link to access the information/quizzes.

  • Once you have clicked on the link (below these instructions), scroll  down until you see "October 17, 2012".  Read the 3 articles (Washington Times, Washington Post, Forbes)
  • After reading the articles, scroll down further and take the political spectrum quizzes (1 and 2).   If you don't understand an issue you can click on "maybe" in Quiz 1; for Quiz 2 you can "choose another stance"
  • Lastly, study the political spectrum chart (located just below Quiz 2)
Here is the link!

2. If you have not created a unit folder within your US History folder in Google Docs titled, "Progressivism" do so now.

3. If time permits, open this document to access the vocab terms for CH. 16 and place the document in your Progressivism folder.  Then start the terms.  I will give you time on Monday to work on these!
